I have more than 20 years of litigation experience. This includes 13 years as a Partner in several of Aotearoa/New Zealand’s best law firms. My specialist areas are Public and Environmental law. I have acted in many of Aotearoa/New Zealand’s leading cases on environmental and resource development issues and across a broad range of practice areas. 

I am an independent Commissioner, and undertake RMA and LGA hearings, both as a Chairperson and panel member. I am appointed to the panels of 4 South Island consent authorities.

I’m based in Wanaka and Tāmaki but available to assist with your legal issues wherever you‘re located.

I have 25 years experience in assessing and resolving complex business issues, using my legal and commercial skills to achieve growth outcomes for corporates, Iwi entities, non-profits and individuals. I am developing a fresh focus on the environment, climate adaptation and accountability. 

I trained as a banking & finance lawyer with tier-one New Zealand and Australian law firms. Then moved to management consulting and business development roles with blue chips, professional service firms and tech startups, both locally and internationally. I’ve acted as an advisor in Treaty settlement negotiations and led Iwi economic development projects and social initiatives in Tāmaki Makaurau and the Pacific. I’ve served in governance roles on commercial, social impact, start-up, education and policy advisory boards.
